Filipino boxing lovers all over the world are anxious and eager about the upcoming fight between Manny Pacquiao and Ricky Hatton dubbed as the "The Battle of East and West". This is scheduled to take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 2nd.
In our case, this is the first time that we'll be managing another site as we monitor the fight at our
Manny Pacquiao Facebook fan page where everyone is encouraged to join.
Hatton's edgeSome observers feel that Hatton has an advantage over Pacquiao. Primarily because,
Pacquiao is smaller compared to his opponent. Hatton is also confident and challenged by how analysts are belittling his chances of beating Pacquiao. He encourages his followers to
bet all they got - even their house. (oh my!)
Pacquiao readyAs always, Pacquiao does not underestimate any opponent and even expressed that the Hatton fight is something to look forward. He has already tuned his mind and
body to the upcoming match. Although some say that his being humble is already to condition his fans in case he loses - that he is about to face a great opponent.
But what Pacquiao has that Hatton doesn't is the faith of the Filipino people. That in every fight, there is no crime committed, politics put aside, and Filipinos pray for him to win. That
power and faith is something that can not be undermined and that puts a lot of responsibility, and even a miracle, for Pacquiao to come out victorious in the past.
But I agree that this fight is something to look forward to as both boxers have earned their respect by
working hard without much trash talk.
May the better fighter win. From this blog, go Manny!
